I have a similar system but I use 12 volt leds for emergency lights and a 4k watt inverter that runs my deep freezer 24-7. There is nothing worse than food going bad after a hurricane. Great Job on the work, we all have to start somewhere. contact me if you want for a lot better deal on panels, i also have a nice AC misting idea to share.
@superasg3 Well us poor scabs of the world can barly have anything
& we have to do everything ourselves….
250 dollars for 50 watt is actually very very expensive and you spend your own time to do a low quality system cause obviously you don’t have the technology. Precious to do it with your own hands though… keep it up
@scrollandkey The Cure…..The song I think is” wishing”.
What is that music?
@fattony252 Haha….and if you tell him you were behind him on windows back in the 80′s..
Write to Bill gates he will send you a solar power system if you say you are going to run a Microsoft Computer program with it
So im guessing you have another back up battery for when the first one gets drained correct…..?
@london1817 ..whats the name of the song ? btw ….thanks for the solar panel videos it would be great if a lot more people did things like this
1/4 inch jacks short when you are plugging in
my home made panel that costed me $50 produces 60W and 18V……….
sorry my sound isn’t working and i was wondering a few things. were did you get it how much was it and how much energy it produced. Any it looks amaizng
$250 Cheap?
@HabbWood1 Thanks.
@london1817 Can understand it! Good luck with your solar panels.
@HabbWood1 I am…..I use it every night. Happy days!
You is so happy of your system
@krazilogicz well its the really cheap way to do it but each panel is about 1-2 amps each=15-24 amps. look out- the ones i mentioned earlier are extremly fragile PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME SOLDERING/TABBIMG
@krazilogicz Watts is amps x Volts. I would worry about amps and making sure you exceed the 12 volt needed. (13-15 or so) I made my own 3 panels for less than $260 and I am running 4 6v batteries in series/ parallel. I am running a large freezer full time. In the sun I am getting a constant 9 amps which is like having a battery charger hooked up to the batteries. This doesn’t even count my wind generator. I still say make your own stuff. I saved HUNDREDS. Take care.
@bloodynikka1 so i buy 12 of those small solar cells and solder them together. that will give me enough amps to charge both those gofl cart batteries?
@CalSolarEng Thanks for the comment!
I will check out your site! Thanks!
What a great simple system.
check us out if you’re looking for something even more complex.
@moniters You need to watch part 2 of this video. I have it on here.
a good idea would be hooking a 12v dc to 120v ac converter to the battery and then running wires through your walls and making a few outlets throughout the house to use instead of two simple lights, also adding a battery in parallel to double the life of the system, just make sure you have a converter that can handle the extra watts.
@krazilogicz -what i said earlier might set you back about $50 altogether.
Why American are so creative and hard worker.
Ryan from Australia
So when you use that “Fan” thing it isn’t on the battery?
how long will it take too charge a 200 ah battery with that kit
Another very interesting video, i have learned a lot from the two video’s of yours, that i have seen. Keep it coming, cheers.

whats the life span on solar panels?
Wionderful to see an american show others the benifits of solar power !! Spread the word !! GREEN IS GOOD !!!
Did you ever do a second video to show how to link two together?
Will it work fine for Suicide by electric shock?
very gratefully for this information, your very intelligent im interesting in made my own solar panel.im waiting for this new information thanks god bless you
why would you not use solar panels to charge batteries and use the batteries to power your house or vehicle?
Hahaha you made me laugh at 3:15 – 3:20
Great vid and thanks for making me laughing!
Anyone else find humor in the solar powered light bulbs?
Ive been installing solar pannels for the past 6 months. depending on the payback per kilowatt you get and how much you pull they usually pay the money back in 2-8 years.
Hey have you seen the mirror thing. It basically aims the light at the panels. I wonder what it would do with a bunch of magnifying glasses.
So what can I use to power my AC and Heater for my house?
I am intersted in building my own photvoltaic system, my needs are limited to the use of a laptop, a small tv and three or four lights of small watage
I would be greatful if you could let me know what I need to meet these demands
Thank you
Nick
YOU ARE A BLESSSING FRON GO.
GOD BLESS YOU.
I just bought this setup and my “low voltage” light is on and I’m geting a reading of 15.3-15.4 on my display. Is there something wrong with my setup? I just replaced my regulator at Harbor Freight…but the “low voltage” light was always on on that one too. I live in AZ and it is clear and bright today. Any thoughts?
nice ! sadly it wouldnt work in the UK…we dont get much sunshine
