This site is aimed at ordinary people who are looking at installing renewable energy sources to power all or part of their home or business. We also provide general reference information on the main alternative energy sources.

Our articles and guides are not aimed at energy experts, but we offer practical and easy to read guides to help you understand what is necessary to plan, install, and even build your own renewable energy sources.

We are a UK Limited registered company that sources various articles and guides from some great writers and Internet resources on renewable energy.

All our content is original and a large proportion of our content is written in-house. We have several eBooks in development that will announce when they are ready for release.

Information About Product Reviews

We scan the Internet and book stores for some of the best products on renewable energy, including guides on installing homemade power systems.

Homemade power systems, such as DIY solar power systems, are now easier to build and install than ever and cost a fraction of the price of standard professional systems, so are well worth a look.

Unlike many other sites out there we purchase every single item we review – and you will see this in our up and coming video reviews of those products.

Why Using Renewable Energy Resources is so Important

In today's world, we have got used to using non-renewable energy such as oil to run the engines of our vehicles. Far too many of us are not yet considering renewable energy resources.

Just think, there are millions upon millions of vehicles that are slowly depleting the world's supplies of oil.

The more oil, coal, and other Earth resources that we use the less of it there becomes, as all are in limited supply. One day we will simply run out. That's why now we are seeing a lot more interest in the use of renewable energy resources.

From governments to home owners, we all need to push to adopt renewable energy resources as the energy source of the future.

What Renewable Energy Resources can we use today?

By definition, "renewable" is something that can be used again and again, so renewable energy is energy that will not run out. Renewable energies also reduce the the effects of global warming, so using them protects the environment as well.

The are 5 main renewable energy resources that you can advantage of today. They are:

• Solar energy - As long as the sun is shining, we have solar power that can be harvested using solar panels.
• Geothermal energy - The earth has energy under its crust that provides us with heat sourced "geothermal" energy.
• Hydro powered energy - As long as there is flowing water we have hydro power.
• Wind powered energy - As long as the wind blows we can have wind turbines that stores the winds energy.
• Biofuel - As long as we have plants we can make biofuel.

All the above renewable energy sources are readily available and they are slowly catching on in homes and business as an alternative source of energy, but will they ever replace oil and gas?

Currently the world is way too dependant on oil and gas to power all the things we need powered.

However, if we don't start acting right away, we could soon see major problems across the world as soon as we start to run out.

If we fail to take action before the oil and gas fields start to dry up we could be facing a major disaster. This year alone we've seen a barrel of oil reach $200, forcing huge increases in petrol prices. This has a knock effect and the brings up the price of virtually everything, from your grocery shopping through to the gasoline you put in your cars.

Can you imagine what would happen if the price of oil went up to $300, $400 or even $500 a barrel? ...a real possibly in the event of war or a natural disaster, for example.

For example, if oil prices went to ridiculous levels, we could get to a stage where the distribution and haulage companies can no longer afford to deliver the essential food items to your grocery stores.

If we wait until all of the oil and gas is gone before we start to turn to renewable energy resources, it may be too late.

Governments should be putting incentives in place (such as grants) to encourage the uptake of alternative renewable energy resources for both homes and businesses.

It's in everyone's best interest to do so. You can make a difference by telephoning or writing to your local government office to ask what they are doing to help.
